Date My Friend™ - About us
The original Date My Friend concept started long before apps or even Facebook. It was January 2003 and a few single girls in San Francisco decided to throw a party to meet new people. We sent email invites and told single friends to invite other single friends. We called ourselves, DMF, and that first year we threw parties in SF and a few other cities.
But then work, life and new boyfriends (who became husbands) became our focus and the DMF parties were put on hold. Over the years as dating sites and apps grew in popularity and presence, we kept thinking about how cool it would be to create a DMF app.
In 2016, we started brainstorming about the best way to bring the ‘Date My Friend’ concept to life. At the same time I was dying to play matchmaker for some friends and family members (especially my brother). Problem was I had no way to accomplish this goal - either I didn’t personally know anyone who was ‘their type’ or they lived too far away for me to play wingman. And that’s how the DMF app was born - you wouldn’t need to hit the bars with your single friends or even be in the same city or state. You could play matchmaker while waiting in line for coffee or while lounging on the couch in your pajamas. Daters could meet, with a little help from their friends.
So that’s our story. We’re glad you found us. Time to meet and matchmake!

p.s. For those wingmen who are ‘taken’ make sure to tell your spouses and significant others that DMF is a wingman app. Don’t want to be the cause of any confusion if they see the app on your phone. ;)
